Porcine Macrophage Markers and Populations: An Update

نویسندگان

چکیده

Besides its importance as a livestock species, pig is increasingly being used an animal model for biomedical research. Macrophages play critical roles in immunity to pathogens, tissue development, homeostasis and repair. These cells are also primary targets replication of viruses such African swine fever virus, classical porcine respiratory reproductive syndrome which can cause huge economic losses the industry. In this article, we review current status knowledge on macrophages, starting by reviewing markers available their phenotypical characterization following with characteristics main macrophage populations described different organs, well effect polarization conditions phenotype function. We will cell lines suitable studies biology macrophages interaction pathogens.

HETEROGENEITY OF MACROPHAGE POPULATIONS: ANTIBODIES DETECTING VARIOUS POPULATIONS OF MACROPHAGES

Two groups of antibodies against mouse resident alveolar and peritoneal macrophages have been raised individually in rabbits by immunization with whole cell suspensions of lavaged alveolar and peritoneal macrophages. The whole antisera reacted positively with neutrophils and lymphocytes. However, upon extensive absorptions with these cells the activity became restricted to macrophages. The...

Neonatal Sepsis: An Update

Sepsis is the most common cause of neonatal mortality. As per National Neonatal-Perinatal Database (NNPD), 2002-2003, the incidence of neonatal sepsis in India was 30 per 1000 live births. Signs and symptoms of sepsis are nonspecific; therefore empirical antimicrobial therapy is promptly initiated after obtaining appropriate cultures. The early manifestations of neonatal sepsis are vague and il...

Inflammatory Markers in Infectious Diseases – an Update

A host of acute phase proteins whose concentrations increase in blood following infection or inflammations are called inflammatory markers. Hundreds of such markers have been identifiedin various infection diseases, but only very few are being measured by clinical laboratories for diagnostic purpose. While established assays for inflammatory markers like hsCRP, Immunoglobins, procalcitonin, TNF...
